About Hughesville, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Hughesville, Pennsylvania is a Lycoming County borough with about 2,100 residents. It is located about 130 miles northwest of Philadelphia and 165 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. Named for Jeptha Hughes, the town grew around a gristmill, and a tavern and general store followed. Farming was also pivotal in the area economy.

As a small town, there aren’t many major attractions located in Hughesville. The community does host the annual Lycoming County Fair, and there are several great restaurants found here: Kathy’s Café, The Spartan Pub, and Original Italian Pizza, just to name a few. There are several destinations here to pick up a gift, including Donna’s Gifts & Gallery, Cheri’s House of Flowers, and Montgomery’s Pharmacy. The Trout Pond Park Family Fun Center in nearby Muncy also offers Hughesville residents some great outdoor recreational opportunities.

More attractions can be located just a short drive away in Williamsport. Family activities like a trip to Faxon Bowling Lanes are great for both young and old guests. However, adults looking for a kid-free activity might prefer a tasting session at the Bastress Mountain Winery.

The Hughesville area will experience four unique seasons throughout the course of the year. Unfortunately, these varied weather conditions can lead to some dangerous circumstances if proper precautions aren’t taken. During the cold, snowy winter months, residents need to be prepared at home with an efficient gas or electric furnace. There are many days in which readings stay well below freezing, so the right system will protect both people and expensive home plumbing systems.

Temperatures in the area will begin to warm in the spring as the summer months approach. High temperatures into the 80s and 90s will couple with high humidity during these months. A central air conditioner will keep indoor temperatures cool while also improving air quality. Periodic system tune-ups and maintenance appointments can also verify that these systems are working at optimal efficiency.
