About Muncy, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Found in Lycoming County, PA, Muncy is a small borough named for the Munsee Indians who once called the area home. Today, about 2,700 residents live here. Muncy is found along the West Branch Susquehanna River and is home to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections State Correctional Institution – Muncy, which is a major employer in the region. The Muncy School District serves the community and operates two schools, including Muncy Junior-Senior High School.

Although Muncy is a fairy small community, there are some important businesses found here. Visitors and residents alike often enjoy a trip to one of the city’s many unique restaurants, including Mulan, Orlando’s, and Haywood’s Bar & Grill. History buffs who want to learn more about the area should check out the Muncy Historical Society and Museum of History. The community is also a popular place to pick up a unique gift, as notable destinations like the Lycoming Mall and Old Barne Centre are found here.

Muncy and the surrounding communities will experience four unique seasons throughout the year, so residents will want to invest in proper climate controls. During the winter, heavy snowfall and frigid temperatures are perfectly normal. Annually the region receives nearly three feet of snow, although some years have higher totals. Daytime high temperatures average in the mid-30s, but overnight lows often fall into the 20s – or lower. Without a reliable and efficient furnace in place, indoor conditions could deteriorate rapidly.

The summer months in Muncy are much more pleasant, although high humidity is common. Average high temperatures reach the mid-80s, but thermostat readings into the 90s do occur, as well. These can be difficult months for the elderly and people with chronic medical conditions, so proper precautions must be taken. An investment in a new central air conditioner will keep indoor temperatures comfortable.
